Highway North

Along the highway up north (highway 101), we stopped at San Jose to have a look at the city and to take some photographs. Being during the long weekend, that city was somewhat deserted. The city is very clean and the streets are wide. Here is where the famous silicon valley is. We had our lunch here, under the shade of a tree at one of the public parks.

Before reaching San Jose, we passed through a town called Gilroy. This town is famous for its garlic and it has many shops along the road selling all kind of garlic and its products, including garlic ice cream!!. Here we found "elephant garlic", its so big it almost look like a melon. This shop also sells tit bits and we came across packets of pop corn called "ass kicking pop corn". I thought it was funny and took it's photograph. Apart from that, on the shelves there are so many types of sauces, mainly made up from Jalapino and garlic. We bought the sample bottles as takeaway.
