Streets of San Francisco

Just got back from San Francisco for a college visit. This time round we stayed in that city for two nights and we managed to explore the city quite a bit. We started our visit with a tour at the USS Hornet museum. The museum was actually a mothballed aircraft carrier docked at one of the piers. The visit was interesting as the tour was conducted by the 'docent' who actually served on that ship during its operational days.
A conducted tour on the city was arranged for all of us, covering the famous landmarks, such as Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, The two bridges and off course the Wharf. Pier 39 really attracted us as the place is full of activity with so many tourists and street performances. There are a lot of outlets, ranging from designer goods to NFL store and a cool place we discovered is an Antique Outlet that sells memorabilia of celebrities, film stars, sportsmen and also movies. The highpoint of our visit was a chance to ride on the cable car. The cable car has been featured in so many movies and it was quite an experience to travel in it. It is always very popular amongst the tourists and to get a place I have got to queue for an hour. We also saw Lombard Street famous for so many car chase scenes in many movies. We did some shopping at the Wharf and also downtown at Union Square.
