Holiday Weekend

July 4th is Independence day and we all have a day off today, Friday. With the long weekend in mind we (Ghani and I) planned for a trip with our family. We rented a car and decided to drive north to San Francisco. Ghani also bought a GPS to make our diving easier. For wheels, he managed to get a boxy looking Nissan called "Cube" and this little car got a lot of funny stories. Firstly, have look at this car on the right. When we were on the highway, we received a lot of stares from fellow road users. We were proud thinking that, since this car is brand new (2009 model) the folks liked the car. We were wrong. In San Francisco we were surprised when firstly a taxi driver shouted at us and said "Hey man, your car look funny... it's asymmetrical". We were dumbstruck. Asymmetrical??. Again, when we reached a certain junction, two yuppies in a Porsche Carera shouted at us "You bought this car or you got it from rental?" I was irked and shouted back, "you want to trade with yours". He smiled, shook his head and said, "It's an ugly mother ******" and drove off laughing. We were not sure what was the fuss, until we got off the car and look it at a distance from the back. Then we realised that the car was really asymmetrical. It was designed with the offset rear windscreen and a funny shape bumper. Try to figure it out. It was really hilarious. We ourselves laughed all the way knowing how funny this car looks from the rear (the one on the right). Anyway, it was a good ride and it managed to bring us home safely.
